McAfee customer help that is authentic and reliable

Homes and gadgets people use are becoming smarter with each passing year. From surveillance to thermostats and from smart lighting to garages, most of the household products are becoming connected with internet to offer more comfort and convenience to their owners. Homeowners can save money and feel more secure by using smart gadgets and technologies. Now, researchers at McAfee have found that the same technologies that make life easier for the owners also make it easier for the criminals to hack them. McAfee help has shown that a door lock that can be opened and closed remotely by the owner is also easy for a criminal to compromise with.

In a series of blog posts, McAfee researchers have highlighted the security concerns of smart technologies. They have clearly explained how gadgets connected with internet and making life of the owners more convenient can be easily exploited by hackers to gain access to the homes where these devices are deployed.

For example, these researchers proved how easy it is for hackers to open the door of a home where owners open the door with the help of McLear Smart Ring. This ring is usually worn by the homeowners on their finger. It is capable of reading the code of the lock through Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. All it takes for the ring to open the door lock is to get connected with the lock. NFC allows this pairing and the owner does not need to take out any keys and unlock the door.  This smart ring is so convenient that the owner is not even required to remember a code to open the lock.

McAfee help desk has shown that it is very easy to clone this smart ring by hackers.  What this means is that it is very important for the owner of such a ring to ensure safety and security of this ring at all times. If he commits a mistake and someone with a malicious intent gets access to this ring, he can clone it to gain access to the door and thus the home of the user. This hacker will get inside the home of the user of the ring whenever it is empty and steal everything inside.

Chamberlain MyQ Hub is another smart gadget that is used by people in the lock of their garage doors. MyQ Hub is a universal garage door automation platform that allows owners to open and close the garage door remotely. According to the blog posts of McAfee, it is possible to hack this device and steal the cars parked inside the garage of the owner.

This research has revealed the security concerns that are there with modern smart devices. McAfee says its purpose is not to create a panic in the minds of users of smart devices in their homes. They only need to be more vigilant when using such devices. They should make sure that such devices do not fall in the hands of people with malicious intent as they can be compromised.
