Internet Explorer was a very popular browser once upon a time. Microsoft even made it the default browser for its Windows 8 operating system. However, the company is trying to wash its hands off this browser for the last 4-5 years. In fact, Microsoft wants its users to stop using Internet Explorer. This is the reason why it even introduced a browser called Edge to encourage people to switch to it. Internet Explorer support is not officially available from the company. The final nail in the coffin has come from Chris Jackson who is himself a Microsoft employee. This cyber security expert working in Widows division of the company has said continuing with Internet Explorer as the default browser can be a risky proposition for businesses. Jackson says that IE 10 is no more than a compatibility solution now days.
