Normal BLUE SCREEN ERRORS AND THEIR MEANINGS
The Blue Screen of Death, infamous as simply BSOD, is a nightmare of many Windows 10 users. It is actually an umbrella term that may be caused by number of errors associated with this operating system. Whenever the user experiences the dreaded BSOD, the screen of the monitor turns blue and flashes one of these errors. The computer needs to be restarted and the user suffers from loss of data as many apps are unable to save the work done by him.
BSOD’s were, once upon a time during the times of Windows 7 and Windows XP, a bane for the users. They were very frequent and troubled the users no end. However, with the introduction of an improved Windows 10 and the efforts of Microsoft to improve reliability of the operating system, BSOD errors have become quite infrequent these days. But whenever they are encountered by a user, they cause a lot of trouble for him. BSOD support from Microsoft says that there is nothing that a user can do to rectify them. Yet many users try to fix BSOD errors on their own using different methods discussed on forums over internet. This means that BSODs are probably caused by faulty drivers or third party apps and Windows has flashed BSOD in the meantime to fix or patch the issue to prevent a fatal crash of the system.
Every time BSOD occurs, it flashes an error message that is an indication of what probably caused the error. Here are some of the common BSOD errors and the messages that are flashed by the computer.
Critical_Process_Died
If you read this message with BSOD error, it means that some of the critical system processes died suddenly to make your operating system respond in this manner.
System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled
This is another common BSOD error message. It is a bit more complicated and means that system thread created an exception and the error could not be handled.
IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal
This BSOD error is caused by kernel mode device drivers. It takes place when these drivers have used an improper address. If you see this error message, you can assume that there is some fault lying in the hardware of your system. It could also be an error caused by the antivirus program that you are using.
Video_TDR_Timeout_Detected
This is another BSOD error message that is flashed by the operating system when your drivers for the graphics card have become old or faulty. It means that your system has either encountered a software related problem or a hardware problem associated with the graphics card installed in your system.
Page_Fault_in_Nonpaged_Area
This is a BSOD error that can be caused by antivirus program, faulty drivers, or old and outdated hardware. However, this error could also be a result of NTFS volume that has become corrupt. If you are trying to rectify the problem, it is a good idea to check your NTFS volume.
BSOD online support from Microsoft in Windows 10 has brought relief to the users and its frequency has reduced drastically in recent times.
