Apple support has created a whole new market of tablets with its iPad

When the first iPad was launched by Apple in 2010, many experts predicted that it would fail badly. This product even disappointed fans of iPhones. But 9 years down the line, it can be said that the genius of Steve Jobs had rightly anticipated huge success for iPad and things have turned out exactly the way they did with iPhone.

 Apple succeeded where others failed
A crucial role in the ability of iPad to carve out a whole new segment for itself in the market is played by Apple iPad Helpline. It is not that there were no tablets being sold when Apple launched its iPad. In fact, the story of Apple’s iPad began much before iPhone. Newton was the first tablet made by Apple way back in 1992. Instead of fingers, customer had to use a stylus pen to work on this computer. However, this pen based computer never saw the light of the day as Apple never went for its commercial production. Also, that was the time when cell phone market was booming. So it was iPhone first in 2007 and iPad had to wait till 2010.

Apple cleverly carved a niche for itself
It was only much later after iPhones were a huge success that Steve Jobs once again thought about making tablets. Many other companies had by then tried and failed at selling tablets. It was clear that what Steve Jobs was introducing would be a success solely because of its technology and how Apple marketed this product. And of course the much loved Apple iPad support those customers expected after using the iPhones. The manner in which Jobs unveiled the new product it was clear that he was selling more of an idea than a product.

Smart device in between laptop and smartphone
Apple iPad, Jobs said, would a third category of device in between a laptop and a smartphone. This device would enable customers to browse, read, and go through emails with much more ease. As customers found out later, iPad certainly did make these tasks easier than a laptop and a smartphone. It was this clever positioning of iPad between his laptops and smartphones that struck a chord with the consumers. Users were pleasantly surprised to browse on the new iPad and felt they literally had internet in their palms. Checking, composing, and sending emails were also a breeze in this new device. Finally, Apple iPad made reading articles and e-books a very pleasing experience for the users.

It was therefore not a surprise that first iPad sold in millions and the critics who predicted a failure of this tablet had to literally eat their own words. Since April 2010, Apple has launched 5 generations of iPads in different shapes and sizes. If there is a Mini in the form of 7.9 inch screen, there is also the monster iPad called ‘Pro’ having a 12.9 inch screen. There is also the usual 10.9 inch screen counterpart of the latest Pro series of iPads.
